In celebration of Star Wars Daythe premier artisans of dismantling technology, iFixIt, set aside some time to carefully detail the intricacies of disassembling a gadget that every single geek has dreamed of wielding: a Jedi Lightsaber.

For this particular Star Wars themed teardown, iFixIt opted to carefully take apart Obi Wan Kenobi’s lightsaber, which is one of the most recognisable weapons in the Star Wars universe.

According to Star Wars lore, a Lightsaber is assembled by the hand of the Jedi whom wields it. Therefore it is no surprise that iFixIt found the repairability of this Jedi Lightsaber to be surprisingly high.

Thankfully, no hair dryers, wrenches or specialised equipment is needed to take a part a lightsaber. In this case, all that is needed is patience, one steady hand (in the case of accidentally pulling a Luke, like the iFixIt technicians), and a little bit of… Force!
